Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI) Policy
1. What is CPNI?
Customer Proprietary Network Information ("CPNI") is information that STARPHONE LLC obtains solely by virtue of its relationship with you as your service provider. This includes information related to the quantity, technical configuration, type, destination, location, and amount of use of the telecommunications services you subscribe to. Examples of CPNI include your call detail records (phone numbers you call, time of calls, duration of calls) and certain service details.
CPNI does not include your name, address, or telephone number (which is known as "Subscriber List Information").
2. How We Use Your CPNI
Under Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules, STARPHONE is permitted to use, disclose, or permit access to your CPNI without your specific approval for the following purposes:
- To provide, initiate, bill, and collect for the services you currently subscribe to.
- To protect the rights or property of STARPHONE, or to protect users of our services and other carriers from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful use of, or subscription to, such services.
- To provide any inbound telemarketing, referral, or administrative services to you for the duration of the call, if you initiated the call and the provider approves.
- To comply with a valid legal request, such as a court order or subpoena.
3. Restriction on Marketing
STARPHONE LLC does not use your CPNI for marketing purposes. We do not sell, trade, or share your call records or usage data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. If our policy changes in the future, we will notify you and provide you with the opportunity to "opt-out" or strictly require your "opt-in" before such use, as required by law.
4. Authentication and Security
We take the privacy of your CPNI seriously. To protect your information:
- Account Access: We will only disclose CPNI to you after validating your identity through our secure login system (using Password and Multi-Factor Authentication/OTP).
- Customer Service: If you contact support regarding call details, we may require specific verification (such as a call back to the registered number or verification of recent account activity) before discussing specific CPNI.
5. Breach Notification
In the unlikely event of a data breach involving your CPNI, STARPHONE will comply with all FCC rules regarding notification to law enforcement (US Secret Service and FBI) and affected customers within the mandatory timeframes.
